This studio session took place the day before our show on April 26, 2018—opening for Uriah Heep at El Corazon—which may be heard here, for those who wish to compare:

We were not a trio but a quartet for these recordings. Pablo Giadach, of Chile's excellent psych band The Ganjas, was in Seattle just long enough to play with us at El Corazon and to join us for this studio recording at Soundhouse, Seattle.

Pablo’s presence helped to show us how propulsive Beyond Captain Orca!’s music could be. By the time we played at High Dive a month later (beyondcaptainorca.bandcamp.com/album/2018-05-25-high-dive-hi-fi), we were beginning to understand how to work the gear shift & the clutch at the same time in our usual 3-piece format, our tires more consistently gripping the asphalt.
